Task Force X is back and this time the roster might be the most unhinged collection of antiheroes DC has ever assembled in one place. Megan Fox steps into the role of Poison Ivy, bringing a cold, seductive danger that feels like a perfect fit for Gotham’s most lethal botanist. Margot Robbie returns as the chaotic and utterly unpredictable Harley Quinn, and the chemistry between these two is everything fans have been dreaming about for years. Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam crashes into the Squad’s world like a force of nature, a man who bows to no government and certainly not to Amanda Waller. Rounding out this gloriously unstable team are Daniela Melchior’s fan-favourite Ratcatcher 2, John Cena as the hilariously self-righteous Peacemaker, and Idris Elba bringing that effortless intensity back as Bloodsport. When a threat emerges that even Waller can’t contain through normal channels, she does what she always does. She sends the people nobody will miss.
This one was a proper grind. Around hour ten I was deep in DC lore, cross-referencing character dynamics, pulling from comic runs and the films to make sure the tone landed right between brutal and darkly funny. The way James Gunn built the Squad’s voice was something I studied closely. Multiple software tools, a lot of trial and error on the sequencing, and one complete structural rebuild later, it finally clicked.
